This method will allow you to backup and restore your Kodi addons from one device to another, using your email account. This is great for those who wish to send copies of their Kodi setup to friends, family and coworkers – anywhere in the world. It doesn’t actually send a full copy of your setup by email. Instead, it sends a small compressed folder that will trick the new Kodi device into downloading the latest versions of all the addons which had been installed on the original Kodi device. Since this function works by downloading all of the necessary addons from their developers’ repositories, it will only be able to restore addons with active repositories, and not ones which have been deleted by its developer.
The Backup Restore WIZARD is developed by LittleWiz and is available through our TV ADDONS community repository for easy access. Once you’ve created your backup and emailed it to yourself, you can always forward it to your friends, loved ones and coworkers so that they won’t have to fiddle around with configuring Kodi on their own. As long as the properly formatted addons.zip backup file is located in their email account, this tool will be able to use it to restore a copy of your Kodi backup in minutes. This method is particularly useful for devices like the Amazon Fire TV Stick which don’t feature a USB port.
