Kodi keeps certain temporary video data in its memory in order to maximize streaming performance, however on certain lower powered devices you might start to see messages stating that your cache is full, or experience issues with buffering during video playback.
It is quite easy to clear your cache and no harm is done by doing so, it will free up precious memory on your device, allowing for better streaming performance in the future. It should be noted that Kodi automatically clears its own cache every so often as well.
Step 1: Navigate to the PROGRAMS menu.
Step 2: Launch the Indigo tool.
Step 3: Select the Maintenance Tools category.
Step 4: Click on the Clear Cache function.
Step 5: Press the Clear button to confirm.
Step 6: You’re done, just press the OK button and return to your Kodi home screen.
That’s it, you shouldn’t see any cache full messages anytime soon, and if you’re on a lower end device it should now be performing better. You can always repeat this process anytime you feel the need.
