Thanks for the break down!
I was seeing the cost of the pi doubles when you put it all together.
I'm not really big on the cubox anyway so I wouldn't by it to begin with.
If one is a diy guy the pi is a great option. Some are and some aren't. Personally I'm all geek so it would work for me...
Just pickup a Logitech K400 and be done with it. Plug and play! The best 20.00 you'll ever spend.
Don't fall for the firmware fix thing. Never came for the MX2 and we've only waited for a year or so. [emoji19]
The Chromebox has limited storage as well.
I use a 2 drive NAS that sits in a closet hooked up by Ethernet to stream from and backup to. One can also setup a share to a PC on your network and store video files for streaming.
The 32 gig ssd is large enough for the os and XBMC KODI. It's fast...
We are not on the same page.
I thought you were running Ubuntu Linux and wanted to update XBMC KODI.
It sounds like you are putting the source in XBMC not in Linux. I'm not familiar with the m8 box and probably have just confused you.
It's my understanding that continued support for your box has just ended by team KODI [emoji19]
For less than 200.00 you can have a true htpc box. Checkout the HP Stream Mini and install KODI.
