Samsung wand remote? (cec/air remote)
I'm currently using my samsung remote normally to control xbmc, but it has a cool pointer/wand thing it does on the tv, basically you can use the remote as a mouse.
I was wondering if that was possible to implement into xbmc?
This will be a nice short thread I think!
I have a samsung tv which has one of the wand/remotes with it, you can basically use it as a mouse pointer, it's GENIUS!
But, can I get it to work with my Pi over CEC? Anyone tried it?
I've had my pi at least 2 years now and for the sake of spending £25 on a new one (which I'm waiting to arrive) it's easier to do that than RMA :P Glad it wasn't just mine though Lowridin!
I also noticed something when I was messing with the wifi when I checked it with a dongle. It wasn't just...
I've come to the conclusion that my pi is buggered. Done everything including putting xbian on too just incase it was openelec, that's doing it too. Even turned off all the security on my router incase it was blacklisting the pi for some reason. Still did it.
So it dropped out again.
Out of a sense of desperation I took the pi out of its housing. I'd already taken the top half off when I overlooked it to get some air in. But yeah, decided to take it out of the bottom part too.
It's been on around 2 hours now and going strong.
Very odd indeed.
Tried that, no joy.
I removed the overstock I had on, no joy.
Tried with different power supply. Nope
Tried copious different cables. nope.
It lasts maybe 3 or 4 minutes before the connection time drops. Only the one red light remains on the pi.
Going to try a fresh install tomorrow.
This has happened a few times now but I've just been trying to watch an episode of hells kitchen and it's dropped out 4 times now. Tried a different cable, different port on router. Net connection on other devices is fine. The pi is loosing connection and won't reconnect or even acknowledge a...
Reformatted and running at 900 and all seems well. I think my problem was indeed the 'ICrap' :P
It only gave me links for Ic*f*lms anyway :D One thing that was good about it though, it saved my search history which meant I didn't have to type in the same tv shows every week!
I knew a USB3 would...
Sorry for the delayed reply, been working a lot.
Running just on an SD. Sandisk xtreme 80mb/s, internet is fiber and running nice and quick.
I overclocked my pi up to med spec on openelec and it ran a bit better. I turned it back down though as a lot of my links weren't working right...
I would get a Ouya, but I don't have a spare £100 at the moment :P
I am using a very fast SD (class 10) and I'm wired on a fiber. I'm not overclocked though. Is there a script to overclock because ssh is a pain in the ass!
