Man oh Man...kodi is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you will get...
you can tell who puts effort into there addons for sure...you guys that do Ic*f*lms, genesis, onechannel, pulsar, etc..u rock.
while others that do Al*uc, movies hd...etdc..get off the crack pipe and on the keyboard...your clearly in it of the donations side, and you cant are dont deliver...thats too bad...
if i figure out how to wirte these addons in the winter months , i will..
server errors, dependencies errors, etc...are non stop with lots of addons....
this forum is the best place to learn...but when you have addons that are constantly down, remove them from your addon index, please, so others will not have the problems.if someone downloads the Al*uc addon..its nothing but a problem..so dont tempt them to download it. until its stable... just my thoughts

kinkin, i really do appreciate what you have done, and the addons you have compiled...i know it took a lot of work and effort on your part.
i am no novice when it comes to computers at all, i use to write code, but I am 63 now, and can barely remember where my sock drawer is.
living on a fixed income, i really wanted to cut the cord and use the money i spend on direct tv for food. so I thought my answer was an android box...which in some ways it is..i spend 55 dollars for an mx111 box, and updated it to kodi 15.1/// i cant write code any longer its way over my head now....i wish that i could...all i am saying is, back in the day we would not release something that was not at least functional to the masses. every one wants donations for there time and effort, which i understand completely, but if your project fails, why donate..
if your project works, you get my donations...it looks like most of the errors are due to the python scripts..fix it, are delete it, why let people download addons that are not correct...i respect what you have done, and hope that in the future your addons are solid.
thanks for your time in creating your repo.

Kodi isn't meant for everybody yet but it gets closer with every release. As for 3rd-party add-ons, most will NEVER be ready for "the masses." Clearly this isn't the product for you. If you have dedicated hardware for this you'll want to sell it. You'll have no trouble finding a buyer. Then get yourself a Roku 3 and a Netflix subscription. It seems best suited for your needs. If that doesn't satisfy you, you'll want to stick with commercial television sources.

I don't take donations, never have, never will, and this is one of the reasons.
If you want to cut the cord just with addons you need to be prepared for things to break. Sites change, developers have lives and we fix things when we have time.

You do realise the you, along with the rest of us here are are most likely breaking copyright laws using these addons.

If you want to donate use Netflix, you can guarantee a stable experience then.

If the addon stops working and you can't fix it use the internet, find the site the add-on uses.
That's what we have all been doing for years, that how these add-ons get created, websites these add-ons scrap from can, and do vanish over night.

Please stop dangling carrots, it comes across as disrespectful.

I totally did not get the whole picture..i bought in to the (watch any channel, any movie free, all the pay channels, etc.)....without doing much research.. I since have paid a sub to ustv, and am very happy with it, and i use just a few addons for movies...I never cared for hbo, etc..
I have ditched my cable provider..and I dont miss it.
If i add an addon now, and it does not work, i just delete it, and find another..its amazing as how shortlived some are..
I think I have 4 addons , for movies and they work all the time..and just a few for sports...im happy.
how ever, after years of people working on kodi, and some of the addons, you would think it would be more stable.
but as you said, sites come and go,

No worries, my message may have seemed harsh. Many of us come from a background, in this type of thing. But unfortunately many people are unaware on what actually goes on behind the scenes, as the User interface of Kodi and these addons looks so polished.

Unfortunately some YouTube videos and slogans made by some people on other sites don't help, with this, to a brand new user it can be confusing about what is actually going on when they are using these addons

Another thing I didn't mention was that the websites and filehosters that add-ons here scrape from mostly make money out of advertising, so many make small to and frequent changes to their sites on purpose to break these addons.
And as you can appreciate it can be a never-ending task for the developers here to keep up, with editing their addons to suite.

Kinkin along with the other developers here are honest about this, you will of course find someone who will try and take your money.

Hi-just thought I'd add my thoughts. I must admit-being a technical 'newbie' I found the 1st 7-10 days of Kodi (I've the TVMC 14.2 helix build) FRUSTRATING as I could not get some add-ons to work/script errors/buffering, etc. With the help of this & other forums I've sorted out the buffering-even though I've just 4.2 mps connect. I run a fire stick & am UK based. As an 'open the box' & 'it'll play the lot' option (as is often marketed on the 'fully loaded' ebay uk ads) it's in my opinion NOT an option that you can rely on 100%.

However ....for me I find it's now the best thing since sliced bread! Seceret is read/learn/look at tutorials (Seo michael & soloman & husham are great-you tube & google search) & also the XBMC forum is of great use. I've now learned how to clear cache/purge/keep memory free, I'm going to try & back up my kodi soon through one of the apps too. What I've done is have around TEN apps/add-ons or so for each thing-so I may have 10 for new movies, another 4 that specialise in HD, 10 for recoreded tv, 10 for live international channels etc. After about 8 weeks or so you kind know which are reliable & work well, & if you've 9 other add-on's doing the same thin if 1 is but-move to the next-it's FREE after all!!!

So....for me & anyone else who attempts to get thieir head around how it works ...& you ALWAYS have a good few 'spare' add-ons for each subject (ie films, tv, live etc)-you can't really go wrong in the slightest.

OP-I feel you're being a touch harsh on Kodi/TVMC etc after 10 days...give it a bit longer & follow what I do.

What type of thing do you watch? I'll gladly PM you the apps I find reliable-but they may be completely different if you're not UK based.

thanks but i have a hand on it all now... iagree it takes some time to figure out what works and what does not.
i have slimmed my addons down to just the ones that i use day to day, and has made kodi, an excelent tool.
