Anyone still running Helix?

I've got a few Mac Mini's and have had great luck making through recent events with everything still working.
However just the other day I noticed some of the plugins starting to not work.
Is there no support for these older versions anymore?
Or new plugins that will still work with them?

I don't think Helix is supported anymore. As for new addons, they are developed for the newer version. Some even developed for the newest un-stable Leah.

If you are getting addons not working anymore, it might be time to think of updating Kodi to at least Krypton.

Nothing higher than Helix will run on a say 2009 mac mini which I have a few of.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, I believe you are SOL. I don't think they will be useful much longer as you can start seeing now.

The limiting thing on the 2009 mac mini is the OSX. Ditch it and move over to Openelec 8.0.4 and your mac mini should run Krypton fine as the 2009 mac minis use NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics and can do h.264 nicely
You can even try booting Openelec on USB thumb drive into Live mode and test usability before writing it to the harddisk
