I'm hoping that this is a temporary glitch and not a deliberate effort to "kill" the Apple TV.

Currently, trying to add KODI to the Apple TV will FAIL. Only an XBMC version of FRODO can be installed.

The issue is being discussed here:

http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=233678

Any Apple TV users who have experienced and gotten around this?

Anyone with a recent update?

Thanks in advance.

And you JUST did this install, sqig?

If so, you are the first reporting the ability to do so since me and all the other respondents are not able to access the mirror to download KODI... only XBMC (FRODO) can be installed.

This is what we're getting following your guide:

Apple-TV:~ root# echo "deb http://apt.awkwardtv.org/ stable main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/awkwardtv.list
Apple-TV:~ root# echo "deb http://mirrors.kodi.tv/apt/atv2 ./" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/xbmc.list
Apple-TV:~ root# apt-get update

Just going off the top of my head here as I dont have an ATV2 on me right now but have you tried to manually download the deb file to the ATV2 directly and run the install.

Instructions under section 4 here.

http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_on_Apple_TV_2

I use to do this with nighly builds. Just needed to do a wget with the link and then do a "dpkg -i" with the file

I think the deb file you want is here...

http://mirrors.kodi.tv/apt/atv2/deb/

Hopefully that works.

I'm trying to install Kodi 14.2 on ATV2 for a friend and it just won't install. Is there any other way than what's been mentioned above? I've tried everything, no go.
