Running XBMC on my laptop, connected to my TV through HDMI. Yet there's no sound coming out through the speakers of the telly just the laptop which is quite. I opened the XBMC's volume controls and selected output via HDMI half the time it closes what I am playing, the other half it does nothing.
If I play something through WMA or VLC the sound comes out through my TV speakers so I know the issue isn't with the laptop... no matter how crap it is haha.
Any suggestions, sorry if this question is repeated I did have a look but could see any similar posts.

Did you change it in system/audio output to hdmi?

Might need a reboot after you change it here

And make sure you dont have any other options selected for dts and receivers etc etc

With the TV hooked up to the laptop go into your audio settings on xbmc (in the system settings), change it to ANALOG, after you change it to analog then you should be able to select your tv as the output... Thats what did it for me and i struggled with it for about two months before Flapster lead me in the right direction...
