im new this xmbc stuff i just got an apple tv 1 and would like to know how i can get the best features out of it but am a bit confused can any 1 help

Sorry I missed this, and yes.

You have two options

1) install openelec... Follow their guide or the one I wrote for AppleTvHacks http://www.appletvhacks.net/2012/12/17/apple-tv-1-new-life-with-openelec-2-0/

2) google USB creator... All you need is the software, a flash drive, and an Internet connection.

Between the two, for mine, I HAVE OPENELEC 2.0
