How would you organize this forum?

Easy as PI
I think the forums should be split into separate categories for each platform that would make it easier for people to find the help they were looking for instead of searching through apple when you're looking for Windows or Linux or even RasPi. I mean I'm an HTPC user and when I first came to the forums I was looking for PC help. But every platform is on every page so it came down to a game of searching All the ATV 1,2,3, All the Android, And even some RasPI stuff before I could even find anything on Windows. So wouldn't it be easier if I could just go to the PC category To find what I'm looking for It just make sense to me. Hope this helps. Oh I forgot Linux.*Feedback Please.

Yeah, I agree. It is a little overwhelming to look through the forums without distinction between platforms.

I would like to see less treads. By example 1Ch**nel, everyone can begin a new tread for no problem at all. It is getting real messy. Problems, questions should be placed in predesigned places, so everyone would know where to look.

With reference to above post regarding less threads - I'm on another forum and it has a neat feature were as you type your thread/post subject it auto suggests what may be similar posts. This would cut down on people asking something which may have been answered or explained already. Although there is a search function....:)

It would be nice to see an easy-to-find area for dev tools, too. Maybe even a contest or just pushing to seek out devs willing to make additional dev tools (a specially in C++ / VB) to help give XBMCHUB additional appeal and make live easier on devs both new and old.

Possibly even a easy-to-find area for Users' Favorite Python and/or XML Code-Sniplets.

Perhaps all new posts should start with the platform type and then the query.
For example
Raspberry pi - 1Ch**nel script errors
Apple Tv2 - 1Ch**nel script errors
Ouya - 1 Channel script errors

That way the originators post would be channeled (pun intended) to the correct platform and those Devs or users who may specialise in that platform would be best placed to respond or help.

Personally I use Rpi with Raspbmc, Openelec, ATV2, iPhone,iPad and Mac with XBMC and despite having a common problem the resolution is not always the same.
Good luck.

This wouldn't work as there would be no organization. Just sections of random questions and guides. What we have dinner is organize the site by add on... Then by category... Then by software/hardware.

Each of these areas have "stickies" with info that would be vital to nOObs.

Then very top of the site has essentials... Like GUIDES... A searchable page dedicated to full guides and how it's.

Then we have things like XBMC HELP (VERY NOOB SECTION)

This area is also nothing but questions answers and guides for n00bs.

Perhaps I should do a video guide on how to utilize XBMCHUB.COM

Not sure if this is the right place to post this?

But i would love to see a new theme or 2 added to the forum. although the default is fine, a darker theme for those who prefer something softer on the eyes would be AWESOME!

Would like to see a section for each type/make of device, currently only a handfull. Currently have a question and been all over the forums looking for an answer or the correct place to post a question.

Back to searching.....

there are many different device's on the market to many to cover I would guess, but all use one operating system be it Linux android apple or windows if you search for a solution narrow the search parameter down to the op/system your using...

Yeah there's no way we could give room to every to bit device on the planet. We let our community at large dictate what sections come and go.

Create an Adult-Only section. That way people who are looking for adult content add-ons know where to go and people that (say that they) don't like adult content know where to stay away.
Now adult and non-adult is mixed up and every question someone asks about adult content add-ons ends up in an i'm-not-into-adult-content-and-neither-should-you discussion.
