hi. as Gotham was recently released, i updated ATV2. And as expected some addons are incompatible.
Now everytime i check for updates, i keep having to click yes or not to disable due to incompatibility.
I click no as most addons still work.

My question is this. Is there anyway to edit any files so that they appear compatible
locally. That way i dont have to go through Y/N to disable everytime.

many thanks

You have done some dev work, you forget it already? :)

For those that are incompatible the easy fix is to change the python version in each respective addon.xml to 2.1.0

That will solve XBMC prompting, and if the addon works ok in Frodo it *should* work ok in Gotham

hi E! thought i just tried that on one addon. But when i refreshed , i could have sworn it still said incompatible.
Maybe should have restarted XBMC.

Will try again.

I don't see a python version in a lot of the addon.xml files inside the Repo's? or is there addon.xml files else where other than in the repo?

The addon.xml file to be edited is in the actual addons folder. Not the repository folder.
To edit them (outside xbmc) you would need to enable view hidden files then navigate to that addons folder
(Na*i-X as an example)
Operating systemFile path
Windows 7, 8%appdata%\XBMC\addons\Na*i-X
Linux/home/<username>/.xbmc/addons/Na*i-X
Android/storage/sdcard0/Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/addons/Na*i-X
iOS/private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/addons/Na*i-X
Mac OS X/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/XBMC/addons/Na*i-X
OpenELEC/storage/.xbmc/addons/Na*i-X
If the apple or openelec paths are off I apologise. I got them from the xbmc.org wiki

Open the Na*i-X folder
Open the addon.xml with an editor like notepad, gedit, nano, ES File Explorer, or something
Look for this line:
<import addon="xbmc.python" version="1.0"/>
And change it to:
<import addon="xbmc.python" version="2.1.0"/>

hope this helps

@JAPGEISHA
Yes, you would have to ssh into the ATV and do this:
Again with Navi as an example

Change the directory to Na*i-X:
Code:
cd /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/addons/Na*i-X
The nano editor should be preinstalled so:
Code:
nano addon.xml
Using the arrow keys to navigate, edit the line to read:
<import addon="xbmc.python" version="2.1.0"/>

press <ctrl><x> to exit.
press<y> to save changes.
You would need to do this to all the addons that show as incompatible.
then reboot the atv.

I hope I did that right. I'm not the best at apple :)

In android when going to /.xbmc/addon/ there is no Na*i-X. When doing a sesrch in the addon file all that I get are Na*i-X.py, Na*i-X.pyc or Na*i-X.png?

Are you sure you have the real Na*i-X addon installed and not that video plugin one? The official one is only available under programs. If you can run navi from the video menu then your looking for the wrong folder name. That one is something like plugin.video.Na*i-X
I dont even see the files you mention in the Na*i-X folder.
Also the path for droid that I listed is from my gbox (android 4.2.2) and GSII phone (android 4.1) so the path could be slightly differant from what you have. its the same folder where just about all the addons are located.

I just figured out whats going on. Your search must have returned N*viX.py and N*viX.pyc, not Na*i-X.py. Sorry for not seeing that.
Those files are in the folder: /.xbmc/addons/Na*i-X/src
The addon.xml (the one needing changed) is in the folder: /.xbmc/addons/Na*i-X
