I had a 2 year subscription of IP Vanish, but let it go because of constant performance issues. Maybe it is my expectation of really how fast it should be .. I took all the technical suggestions and applied them and tried several servers to get the speed up... both close and far away... but my experience is that I never got more than a 20% speed performance based on my network speed. I have a 200mbs down 10mb up service, but I rarely could achieved 30 mb/s download Is that pretty common? That seems to be a big performance hit..

All the services guarantee the "Fastest" and largest amount of servers but if the it to my performance I'm pretty disappointing. Does it make any difference if I install it in the router for all my traffic or as a client on each device, (that's the way I was using it).... I just can't see why the download speeds get hit so much and since I pay for a 200mbs I'd like to get the use of it.. .

This has probably been asked a million times.. but I"m looking for feed back of actual usuage and performance numbers not just what one advertises the fastest one. Thanks so much in advnce..

If you really interested to get a vpn that have large number of servers in almost every country and gives you fastest speed, then you should go with PureVPN. Its new app is really amazing and user-friendly with more than 6500 servers across the world and gives you ultra-fast speed. The good thing is it also offers different browser extension such as Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge with great number of servers list.

Not sure where to put this, but anyway. If I subscribed to a VPN ,do I need to install it onto the router ( or buy a specific router) or can I just install it on each individual device, like an adroid box for example?

Not all VPN are the same. Some can be installed on a router and others are better installed on each machines.
If installed on a router you might have to get an old dlink and flash it with a software that will allow you to install the VPN. Depending on your existing router you might be able to install it directly on it.
If your VPN will not allow for installation on a router you can simply install the VPN on each device you wish to protect. Some VPNs will allow installation on an unlimited number of devices while others will only allow installation on a few devices.
Some will give you a 3 to 7 day trial before you buy. Best way is to do your homework and get the one that suits your needs best.
