Since GitHub is the platform where almost all open source software development takes place, we felt that naturally there should exist a Git Browser for Kodi. No longer will you have to worry about having to figure out how to install a particular Kodi addon or repository. This new feature puts control back into the hands of the user, giving you the ability to use any Kodi addon you’d like. It also gives developers the freedom to create and distribute Kodi addons without having to align themselves with a particular group or web site. Now you can install any addon you’d like, directly from the individual addon developer’s repository, in a matter of seconds. For best results, all you need to do is input the addon developer’s GitHub username into the search. This is the new and improved method of Kodi addon installation!
Once you have the latest version of our Indigo tool installed, you can take full advantage of the new Git Browser functionality by navigating to the Addon Installer section. After that, we recommend inputting the GitHub username of the developer who’s addon you wish to install. We’re assuming that developers will begin to make an effort to advertise their GitHub usernames, however you can always search through the GitHub web site on your computer to figure it out on your own. In case you’re not aware as to why this is so useful, we’ll explain how addon installation worked in the past. When a developer created an addon on GitHub, they would also have to submit their addons to Fusion Installer (or an alternative file manager source), but now that middle step that would involve joining a bigger group, is no longer necessary.
