If you haven’t used Kodi in a while, now might just be the right time to give it another shot. Over the past nine months, our community has seen many changes. Things weren’t looking too hot for a while there, but we’re overcoming the struggle and our community is rapidly becoming stronger and more resilient than ever. Developers now have more control over the distribution of their own addons. Users can now use our tools to instantly download and install any Kodi addon they’d like, without us having to be involved in its distribution. The process of decentralizing our community is progressing tremendously, we are very excited about what the future has in store.
Kodi is one of those things that requires basic maintenance from time to time. Like a computer, excess junk will deteriorate performance. In the guide below, we’ll walk you through installing the latest version of Kodi, and then give you the tools you’ll need to install unrestricted Kodi addons. The new Git Browser method of installing Kodi addons might seem a bit confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it we are confident that you’ll find it much easier than before. Millions of people are once again enjoying Kodi to its full potential, it’s now your turn. Should you run into any trouble or have any questions at all, please feel encouraged to visit our discussion forums for assistance.
Before Proceeding
Android Users: Those of you who are running older devices or cheap Android boxes might run into some trouble. Kodi 18.3 Leia requires Android 5.0 or higher to run. If your device doesn’t support Android 5.0, you’ll need to buy a new Android TV box in order to continue to enjoy Kodi. Alternatively, you could try FTMC.
Apple TV 2 Users: Even though the last two versions of Kodi didn’t support the Apple TV 2, the device still seemed to work alright. This will no longer be the case moving forward, without HTTPS or HD support it’ll be next to useless, it’s time to purchase a new Android TV box.
United Kingdom Users: It will be necessary to disable certain router security settings before continuing, we’d also highly recommend using a VPN Provider to circumvent site blocking.
