Installing Kodi to an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch without jailbreaking is actually quite easy thanks to an alternative “App Store” known as TweakBox. TweakBox uses enterprise development certificates to make it possible for users to download non-App Store approved apps to their iOS devices. The one drawback is TweakBox will show you ads once in a while, but that’s definitely easier (and more secure) than jailbreaking.
Enterprise certificates are normally given by Apple to companies that wish to release private apps for use by their employees only. Somehow TweakBox continues to manage to gain access to enterprise certificates given to Chinese companies. The good news is that this process will allow you to install Kodi to your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch in a matter of minutes, without needing a computer at all. No technical skills required either.
Step 1: Navigate to https://next.tweakboxapp.com/ using the Safari web browser on your iOS device.
Step 2: After a few seconds, press the X at the top left corner to dismiss the advertisement.
Step 3: Select the APPS menu.
Step 4: Choose the Tweakbox Apps section.
Step 5: Scroll down until you find the Kodi app.
Step 6: Click on the red Install button.
Step 7: Press the Install button again when prompted to confirm.
Step 8: Return to your iOS home screen to find the Kodi app downloading. Wait a few minutes for the process to complete.
Step 9: Launch the Kodi app for the first time.
Step 10: Press the Cancel button if prompted by an Untrusted Enterprise Developer warning. This is normal, don’t panic!
Step 11: Launch the Settings tool for iOS.
Step 12: Navigate to the General section.
Step 13: Scroll down to Device Management at the bottom.
Step 14: Click on the Trust button which will display the name of the Chinese enterprise certificate beside.
Step 15: Press the red Trust button to confirm.
Step 16: Return to your iOS home screen and attempt to launch the Kodi app again.
Step 17: Press the OK button when prompted by the first run message.
You may have to dismiss an advertisement once in a while, that’s the drawback of TweakBox simplicity.
Step 18: All done! At this point you’ll probably want to use our Git Browser to install the unofficial Kodi addons of your choosing.
