If you’re trying to get support or figure out what’s wrong with your Kodi installation, you probably don’t want to even bother asking unless you’ve retrieved your error log for debugging purposes. There’s a function within our Indigo tool that allows you to easily upload your error log to the web so that you can access it on the computer without any technical knowledge.
There’s no point in uploading an error log until you’ve reproduced the error at least twice, and have not rebooted Kodi since the error occurred. It should also be noted that if you’re going to post your Kodi error log to our discussion forums for assistance, please post the link to the log and not the log contents itself.
Step 1: Navigate to the Settings tab under the SYSTEM menu.
Step 2: Select the System tab from the vertical menu bar.
Step 3: Select the Logging tab at the bottom of the vertical menu bar.
Step 4: Click on the Enable debug logging field to enable it.
Step 5: Return to the Kodi home screen, then navigate to the PROGRAMS menu.
Step 6: Launch the Indigo tool.
Step 7: Select the Log Uploader function.
Step 8: Click on the Destination Email Address field.
Please Note: It will only ask you for this information the first time you use this function, afterwards you’ll need to go into Add-on Settings in order to alter it.
Step 9: Input your email address and then press the Done button.
Step 10: Press the OK button at the bottom of the window.
Step 11: Press the Yes button to proceed with uploading your logs.
Step 12: Once completed, you’ll be presented with a link to your log file, which should also have been emailed to you. This is the links that you’ll want to post to our discussion forums for assistance.
Step 13: Return to the Kodi home screen, the navigate to the Settings tab under the SYSTEM menu.
Step 14: Select the System tab from the vertical menu bar.
Step 15: Click on the Enable debug logging field to disable it. You’re now done!
It might be a good idea to look through your Kodi log file before posting it to our discussion forums, you might be able to figure out the issue on your own.
