Correcting the Display of Non-Latin Text in Kodi (16.1 Jarvis or Below)

If you’ve installed any Kodi add-ons that are in languages that don’t use Latin characters, such as Hebrew, Russian, or Arabic, you may have noticed that the menu text does not load properly. Kodi by default uses a font that is not compatible with foreign text, and therefore would display weird looking boxes instead of what it is supposed to show.

The change is a very simple one to make, and won’t affect your experience with English addons whatsoever. It is basically just a font change, one that you’ll barely notice at all. Once the change is made, you’ll be able to browse Kodi addons pretty much any language at the same time.

Required: Kodi 16.1 Jarvis or Below

Step 1: Navigate to the Settings tab under the SYSTEM menu.

Step 5: You’re done! Return o your foreign language content to find that it is now correctly displayed.

That was easy enough wasn’t it? Now you can browse your English content and foreign language content simultaneously. No clue why they didn’t use this font setting by default, would have made things more simple.
