It might happen from time to time that you’ll be watching a movie or TV show with subtitles and notice that the subtitles aren’t synchronized with the Kodi video playback. This could happen sometimes, due to different reasons, including different versions of the same title being released, or due to some error made by the subtitle creator.
When you stream through Kodi, nothing is ever static, the whole experience is dynamic. This means that it is normal to experience issues with subtitles being out of synchronization. Luckily, this issue is a very easy one to fix, and if you use subtitles with Kodi often, it’s probably one that you’ll want to get used to.
Step 1: During playback with subtitles, press any button to display the player controls bar.
Step 2: Navigate to the first button that looks like a circle with a square inside of it, at the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 3: Select the Subtitle offset function.
Step 4: While paying attention to the spoken audio and the controls at the top of the screen, press left or right until you’ve synchronized the subtitles with what you’re watching.
This should prove to be quite useful of a tip for those of you who use subtitles regularly, especially for international Kodi users. It’ll prove to be second nature once you get the hang of it.
