If you’ve ever attempted to stream anything live online, you’ve probably experienced big hassles and very low quality video that buffers until you go insane. SopCast and AceStream are P2P streaming protocols that promise to make online streaming great again. Unlike regular streams, P2P-based streamings get faster and higher quality as user numbers increase. However, since SopCast and AceStream are based on P2P technology, similar to that of torrents, it is crucial that you use a VPN service in order to ensure your privacy.
We’ve written this guide specifically for Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick owners, but there’s another guide available for Android TV users. There are a few parts to the guide, so read carefully and you’ll have the Plexus addon, along with the AceStream Engine, installed in no time. After you’ve managed to get the AceStream Engine along with Plexus installed, you’ll want to search on Google for “AceStream Search” in order to find updated AceStream identifiers called hashes. We’ve also heard that Reddit is a great place to find SopCast and AceStream hashes.
Part 1: Downloading the AceStream Engine
Step 1: Navigate to the Settings menu of your Amazon Fire TV device.
Step 2: Select the Device menu icon.
Step 3: Click on the Developer Options tab.
Step 4: Click on the Apps from Unknown Developers function.
Step 5: Click on the Turn On button to proceed.
Step 6: Once ON is displayed next to Apps from Unknown Developers, return to the Amazon Fire TV home menu.
Step 7: Navigate to the Search function at the top of the Amazon Fire TV home menu bar.
Step 8: Input DOWNLOADER into the search.
Step 9: Click on the Downloader search term.
Step 10: Click on the Downloader app icon.
Step 11: Click on the Download button.
Please note that if you get the following error, you’ll have to login to your Amazon account from your computer, navigate to the Your Account section, then to Settings, then Manage Address Book. Once you’ve added an new address, you’ll have to click on Set as Default within the Manage Address Book menu. Lastly, you’ll have to reboot your device and continue from Step 7 of this guide.
Step 12: Press the Got it button if you’re prompted with the You got an app message.
Step 13: Click on the Open button.
Step 14: Press the Accept button once you’ve adjusted the screen.
Step 15: Click on the OK button to dismiss the information prompt, if one appears.
Step 16: Click on the address bar under the Enter the URL of the file you want to download field heading.
Step 17: Input the following AceStream Engine download link using the on-screen keyboard, then press the Go button.
Step 18: Wait a few minutes for the AceStream Engine to download to your Amazon Fire TV box.
Step 19: Click on the INSTALL button to proceed with the Ace Stream Engine installation on your Amazon Fire TV device.
Step 20: Wait a minute while the Ace Stream Engine installs to your Amazon Fire TV device.
Step 21: Click on the DONE button once it says that the Ace Stream Engine has been installed.
Step 22: Press the Delete button if you’re prompted by a file downloaded successfully notice after you’ve already installed the Ace Stream Engine as directed above.
Step 23: Press the Delete button again to proceed.
Step 24: Return to the main menu of your Amazon Fire TV.
Part 2: Starting the AceStream Engine
Step 25: Navigate to the Settings menu of your Amazon Fire TV device.
Step 26: Click on the Applications icon.
Step 27: Select the Manage Installed Applications function.
Step 28: Scroll down to the Ace Stream Engine app.
Step 29: Click on the Open button.
Step 30: Return to the Android TV launcher main menu once the Ace Stream Engline is launched and displays the “Start succeed” message.
Part 3: Installing the Plexus Kodi Addon
Step 31: Launch the Kodi app from your Fire TV main menu.
Step 32: Navigate to the Add-ons tab from the left side vertical menu within Kodi.
Step 33: Click on the little box icon at the top left corner of the Kodi interface.
Step 34: Click on the Install from repository function.
Step 35: Select the TVADDONS.CO Add-on Repository option.
Step 36: Select the Program add-ons category.
Step 37: Choose the Plexus addon from the listing.
Step 38: Click on the Install button at the lower right of the window.
Step 39: Once the download is complete, return to the previous Add-ons menu in Kodi.
Step 40: Select the Program add-ons category from the left side vertical menu bar.
Step 41: Launch the Plexus Kodi addon for the first time.
Step 42: Click on the No button when asked if you want to use an external application/player.
Step 43: Click on the OK button when it says “Sopcast: All done successfully!”
Step 44: Click Yes when prompted to download the AceStream Engine.
Step 45: Wait a few seconds for the download to complete, then press the OK button when prompted.
Step 46: Click on the OK button again once prompted by the troubleshooting options notice.
Step 47: Press the OK button again once the success message is displayed.
Part 4: Playing AceStream Links in Kodi
Step 48: Select the Add-ons tab from the left side vertical menu bar within Kodi.
Step 49: Choose the Program add-ons category.
Step 50: Launch the Plexus Kodi addon.
Step 51: Click on the AceStream: Play Acestream hash / Torrent URI function.
Step 52: Input the Acestream hash using the on-screen keyboard, then press the OK button.
Step 53: Watch and Enjoy! Sometimes the stream you try might not work, if that’s the case just try another one.
Once you have the whole thing figured out, you’ll probably want to start browsing through Reddit, where you’ll often find people sharing their own stream hashes for events and all kinds of other things of interest.
