Disabling Remote Control Sounds in Kodi (16.1 Jarvis or Below)

If you’re getting annoyed by the sound your Kodi device makes every time you use your remote control, you might want to consider disabling remote control sounds within your device settings.

It’ll only take a few seconds, and you can be rid of the clicking sounds within Kodi for good. These clicking navigational sounds are certainly enough to irritate anyone, especially if you’re doing a lot of browsing.

Required: Kodi 16.1 Jarvis or Below

Step 1: Navigate to the Settings tab under the SYSTEM menu.

Step 2: Click on the System tab at the bottom of the vertical menu bar.

Step 3: Go to the Audio output tab and click on the Play GUI sounds field, where it displays Only when playback stopped by default.

Step 4: Select the Never option.

Step 5: You’re done! Return to the Kodi homescreen and enjoy!

Gone are the clicking sounds! Don’t forget that you can easily turn the Kodi navigational sounds back on at any point in time, should you wish to do so.
