If you’re one of those people who constantly falls asleep with the TV on, and never turns off his Android TV box, then setting a sleep timer within Kodi might very well be a good option to consider. It’ll only take two seconds to get it configured, no more waking up to the shining light of the television in your face during the middle of the night.
While most televisions will turn off shortly after your Kodi device is shut down, certain older television sets might need their own sleep timers to be set manually. Hopefully this will help you sleep a bit better though.
Step 1: Navigate to the Settings tab under the SYSTEM menu.
Step 2: Select the System menu tab on the vertical menu bar.
Step 3: Click on the Settings level field until Advanced is displayed at the bottom of the vertical menu bar.
Step 4: Choose the Power saving tab on the vertical menu bar.
Step 5: Click on the Shutdown function timer field until 90 min or your desired time is displayed.
Step 6: Click on the Shutdown function field that has Quit displayed by default.
Step 7: Select the Shutdown option.
Step 8: That’s it, you’re done!
No more waking up feeling like you’ve gotten a sun tan from the television glowing so bright while you sleep. Basically what’s going to happen now is that if nothing is playing, and you don’t use do anything within the Kodi interface for whatever amount of time you set, your entire Kodi hardware device will shut off.
