URLResolver is the plugin that powers almost all other addons, this is important stuff that shouldn’t be ignored. As you may already know, we’re a little short on developers right now and could use all the help we can get. Believe it or not, testing is one of the most time consuming parts of Kodi addon development, and we’re hoping that at least of a few out of our millions of users will be willing to lend a helping hand and test URLResolver links so that we can determine what’s working and what’s broken. We have some very experienced developers on board, they just don’t have so much free time because of their jobs and real lives.
When we started this community, there were only a handful of developers and no one knew what Kodi was. We have come a very long way and want to assure everyone that if we can get more support and interaction from the users, it will benefit and encourage the development of many new Kodi addons. Developers aren’t paid and don’t make a dime from anything related to Kodi, they do it because they love the community. The more you show your support to developers, the more eager they’ll be to develop, please don’t forget that. Now we’ll show you how anyone can easily help us test URLResolver sources.
Step 1: Click on the Add-ons tab from the vertical menu bar within Kodi.
Step 2: Click on the little box icon at the top left corner of the Kodi interface.
Step 3: Click on the Install from repository function.
Step 4: Select the TVADDONS.CO Add-on Repository option.
Step 5: Select the Video add-ons category.
Step 6: Choose the URLResolver Link Tester from the listing.
Step 7: Click on the Install button at the bottom right corner.
Step 8: Wait a few seconds for the URLResolver Link Tester to download and install.
Step 9: Return to the Video add-ons menu and launch the URLResolver Link Tester for the first time.
Step 10: Click on the Add Link button.
Step 11: Using your computer’s web browser, find a cyberlocker hosted video that you’re certain works, then copy/paste the embed link into the Edit Link field and then press the OK button.
Step 12: Input the cyberlocker’s domain name under the Enter Name field, then press the OK button.
Step 13: Click the link you just added.
Step 14: If the source you’re testing requires pairing, go ahead and do so from your web browser, that way we can be sure that it still works.
Step 15: Once the video begins playing, regardless of whether it buffers, it means that the resolver being tested is fully functional.
Once you’ve had enough of testing, please visit the URLResolver Development section of our discussion forums to report what’s broken and what works. URLResolver requires constant upkeep and that means we also need constant testing being done. Thank you all very much for your continuous support of our community. We have big things coming soon and everyone should get excited about the future of Kodi addons!
